April 2025 Event Recap:
World Music Therapy Day Groups

In honor of World Music Therapy Week, OC Music Services was proud to host a special group music therapy event this past April, bringing together clients, families, and community members to celebrate the power of music to heal, connect, and inspire.

This event was held at our Irvine Studio on April 12th, 2025 , and featured a variety of engaging, inclusive, and uplifting musical experiences designed to showcase the impact of music therapy across all ages and abilities.
Throughout the session, participants took part in group experiences with live music, drumming, movement games, singing and improvisation. The groups were led by our board-certified music therapy team (Lety, Sophie, and Carrie), who created a safe and welcoming space where everyone could participate and express themselves through music.
One of the highlights of the event was the parent and caregiver social hour provided while our OCMS students engaged in music. We mingled, had some snacks, and participated in a guided relaxation while the kids had fun with their peers. Moments like these remind us why music therapy is such a vital tool for building confidence, communication, and connection.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make this event possible. A special thank you goes to our wonderful music therapists and volunteers for helping bring our vision to life.
As we reflect on this powerful day, we’re reminded that music truly transcends barriers — and World Music Therapy Week gave us the perfect opportunity to celebrate that truth together.
We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to share the joy and benefits of music therapy with our community.
Stay connected with us for updates on future events, programs, and ways to get involved!
