Adapted Music Lessons

Adapted music lessons offers you or your child a change to learn, create and enjoy music through the use of sensory and learning adaptations. Our lessons are taught by a board-certified neurologic music therapist with training in special needs populations and cognitive-behavioral techniques.

What's the difference between adapted lessons and music therapy?

The biggest difference between adapted music lessons and music therapy is the end goal. In an adapted lesson the end goal is musical– the student wants to learn HOW to play the piano or guitar and the music therapist will use teaching adaptations to help them.

In music therapy, the end goal is non-musical. While we may play piano or guitar in a session, the primary focus may be to increase fine motor skills or practice sustained attention.
